The Daikin organization, which includes Amana brand, has over 90 years in the development of innovative technology that has improved indoor comfort for residential, commercial and industrial applications. Americans have been relying on premium, long-lasting Amana brand products since 1934, when Amana, Iowa, native George Foerstner accepted the challenge of building a dependable beverage cooler. The Amana brand successfully met that challenge and, two years later, the company introduced another innovative product that soon became indispensable for commercial establishments such as grocery stores and restaurants – the walk-in beverage cooler, also known as the cold storage locker.

The residents of Amana, Iowa, began a long history of pioneering and craftsmanship, and that spirit continues today in the manufacturing of quality Amana brand Heating and Air Conditioning products. From the technology behind our unique heat exchanger to the inclusion of high-quality filter driers in each of our air conditioners and heat pumps, we remain committed to Amana brand's legacy of providing homeowners with heating and cooling products that are built to last.

In 1997, Amana Brand Corporation, a well-known manufacturer of home appliances and HVAC units was acquired by Goodman Manufacturing Company L.P. Goodman, an HVAC manufacturer in Houston, TX, sold the appliance business unit to Maytag Corporation in 2001. As part of the sale, Goodman retained the name of the Amana brand HVAC product line. Today the Amana brand of heating and air conditioning systems is a part of Daikin Industries LTD, parent company to Goodman.

In 2014, Amana brand was part of an acquisition performed by Daikin Industries, LTD. that ensured that Amana brand heating and cooling system would be designed, engineered and assembled in the USA. Daikin Industries, Ltd. (DIL) is a global Fortune 1000 company. It is a worldwide leader for residential and commercial HVAC. The company provides innovative, premium quality indoor climate management solutions to meet the changing needs of residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

In 2016, the new 4.2 million square foot, $400 million facility commenced operations, consolidating manufacturing, engineering, logistics, marketing, sales and more at one facility. With the ability for multiple departments to collaborate under one roof, the Amana brand has positioned itself to provide improved efficiency, quality, communication and delivery and to better meet the needs of our customers.
